Truths

Updated: Jan 31, 2021

You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free (John 8:32). What is my truth?

Since the months of the Covid-19 lockdown, I've been faced with a lot of truths that shook me to my core. Everything I once knew was stripped away from me and the truth stared me in the face, challenging me on what is right and what is wrong.

Is it every time that we know the truth we are set free? I choose to say No. Knowing the truth is not enough. We must accept it and choose to walk in it. And the choice to walk in the truth you have known is where the problem lies.

When I came face to face with the truth, it challenged me. 'Will I choose God or what man says?'. Will every man be a liar and what God says true? (Romans 3:4). Well honestly, I'm in this dilemma of choosing Gods truth(s) over my own truth(s)

This is the sad case in the world of today. We are defining what is good and bad outside what God says. We take on our own truths and choose to believe it and walk in it. World-systems are changing. What was morally wrong is now right. Now, everyone is doing what is right in their own eyes. We have become lovers of self rather than of God and people pleasers (2 Timothy 3: 2-4). Choosing to worship the creation rather than the Creator (Romans 1:25).

When we start redefining truths outside the word of God, we have chosen our way and to be in control of our lives rather than to allow God to lead the way and to follow His leading.

Now, I am stuck between what I knew and the knowledge of the truth I am in now. And honestly, this realisation of God's truth(s) broke me, it shattered me. I was in a bad state for a while. No one really knew that was going on. It was only me and God. I kept face with my family, but deep down, I saw myself for who I really was. And I struggled to accept it. I thought I had it all together, I was in control. The way I was going seemed right in my eyes. But remember, the bible says that there is a way that seems right to us but brings us destruction (Proverbs 14:12). I had to drop everything I once knew and face the truth.

So what I'm I saying? We need to go back and introspect our Christian life. Please go back to God and ask Him to show you the way that your eyes will be opened to see. Let us not choose to remain ignorant. People perish because of ignorance. Let our eyes be opened to see God for who He really is and not you have made Him be. What part of God have you accepted and what part have you rejected?

God is good and He is loving, at the same time, He also gets jealous. He shows love and He justly punishes. Though He slays me I will trust Him (Job 13:15), He chastises those He loves (Hebrews 12:6). He also forgives, He changes you from inside out.

Allow Him to work in you so you can manifest His Glory. It is non of you but all of Him. You surrender and He does His work in you and through you so the world can see Jesus in you. Remember God first and the rest follows (Mattew 6:33).

So guys, now I am starting again. I am reading my bible to know God's truths even if it conflicts with my beliefs, I'll take over a million approval of man. I am learning to pray again not as merely a religious act but for intimacy and fellowship with Him.

I am starting everything again. No matter how hard I fall, I will keep rising to know Him better and silence all the lies of the devil. People, let us go back to God honestly. Ask Him to teach you His truths and pray for Grace to accept them no matter how bitter or harsh they may be. It is to build you up.

We must represent Jesus the right way and not conform to the doctrines of this world.

'So what are you saying, God? Help me to stand in your Truths because it is only walking in these truths that set me free'. Amen.
