The Path of the righteous is like a rosy path. It will be beautiful, fragrant and rosy. In the same vein, it is a path filled with thorns. Some will pay attention only to the rosiness of being a Christian, and others will pay attention only to the thorns that prick you. Sometimes you will have it rosy, and sometimes you will have thorns. Let us not ignore either.
In Proverbs 22:29, it states that a diligent man will stand before Kings and, Matthew 10:18 Jesus also says we will stand before Kings and Governors.
Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; He shall not stand before mean men
Proverbs 22:29(KJV)
When we hear this most times, the thought that comes to mind is standing before kings
to be exalted and not persecuted.
You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.
Matthew 10:18(NKJV)
Read the two scriptures for your self, especially Matthew 10:18 and see what Jesus had to say about standing before King and Governors.
Being a Christian is not all about being exalted but also persecuted. So, when you are allowed to stand before Kings, it can be for exaltation or persecution. What will you do if it was to be for your persecution?
In that same Matthew 10:18; Jesus says we should use this as an opportunity to tell people about Him. So when you encounter the challenge of not knowing what to say, Matthew 10:19-20 says that He will grant us eloquence to speak. It will not be our words, but His words are what we will utter. People do not worry about what you will say. Jesus has got back He will give you the right words to say.
Being a Christian, your path can be filled with rosiness or with thorns. The platform set for you can be to for exaltation or persecution. Will I reject Jesus because of this? Are you ready to walk this rosy path even with its thorns?
No matter what this path brings, I will remember Romans 8:38-39, which states that nothing can separate me from the love of Christ. Not persecutions and not thorns.
If the path of righteousness is rosy, it's one path I'm willing to take: thorns and all.
