LGBT And my Faith

Writing about this topic is new and scary to me. I have been having promptings to write about this for a long time but kept on delaying it and making excuses. I became hesitant, I asked God why I'm doing this and what does it all mean? But asking itself increased convictions of the Holy Spirit backed up with confirmations and I couldn't keep delaying and making excuses I had to let go and obey. I understand now that I have to take a stand and not choose a part of the gospel and ignore the other parts. So, here I go.

Taking a stance on this in the Word of God, LGBT is against God's plans for humans, but what does that mean to me. I will be honest here and say that there were times when I questioned why it was so wrong and after all two people can be in love with each other what can they do about it? They can be really good people just in love with each other, and I thought we should only be accepting of what others feel. Can I even say I was starting to see it as not so bad I even questioned God on why people can not love each other? This was a long time ago before God found me, and I came into a consciousness of Him and began taking intentional steps to know Him better. But God's truths always comes and tears down lies we have believed for ourselves.

In the world we live in today, accepting God's truths is challenging because lies are presented to us as truths and every day, we live in such lies, and we are conditioned every day by what we see, hear and relate to. People, things are changing. The world as we knew it (and even if you did not know) is changing and where do we stand in our faith in Jesus. We stand to see the truth, accept the truth and speak the truth.

LGBT is like a taboo in churches, but we have to start talking about it. The church should be the ones shinning the light to men and not shunning those in the dark but working to bring them out from the dark and into God's love and light.

Condemnation and Self-righteousness act as barriers to the light that we should be shinning. LGBT is a sin yes but so is fornication, adultery, lie, greed...... (Just read 1Corinthians 6:9-10 and you will see what I'm talking about). All are wrong in the eyes of God. The same way they are all wrong is the same way salvation is for all, including people that identify as LGBT.

Suppose you had the belief that they are the greatest sinners and God cannot save them or forgive them, News flash! Jesus came for all, them inclusive. Let us drop all misconceptions on who God can and cannot save or forgive. It acts as a hindrance and distraction to what God can do and is about to do in our world.

Let change as a Christian start from you so that you will be equipped to bring light to the hidden and darkest places in the world. Those places that we are guilty of shutting the light out on.

God is love; God is Light. Let us work to let others see His truths and tear down lies people have believed so that in the end only God's word will remain true and our faith will become stronger as we hearken to His word.
